CaseWatch — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 June 2026
CaseWatch is a browser extension that helps you read your own case status
on the RSC Africa MyCase portal (mycase.rscafrica.org),
highlights what has changed since you last looked, and keeps a copy you
can view any time. It is built to be private: everything stays on
your own device.
What we collect
Nothing. CaseWatch has no server and no analytics. We, the developers, never receive your data — there is no network connection that sends it anywhere.
What is stored, and where
The extension saves the following only on your device, in your browser's local storage:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Your latest case data (case number, status, the six stages, documents) | To display it and detect changes |
| A history of detected changes | To show you what changed over time |
| The time you last viewed your case | To power the "time to check" reminder |
This data never leaves your device. We do not have access to it.
What we do NOT do
- We do not store your MyCase password — you log in yourself.
- We do not transmit, sell, or share any data.
- We do not use trackers, analytics, or third-party services.
- We do not log in for you or bypass any security check.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| storage | Save your snapshot and history locally |
| notifications | Alert you to a change or remind you to check |
| alarms | Schedule the check reminder |
| access to mycase.rscafrica.org | Read your case page on that site only — nowhere else |
Deleting your data
Use the "Clear my saved data" button in the extension popup to erase everything it has stored. Because nothing is kept anywhere else, this is a complete and immediate erasure. Removing the extension also deletes its stored data.
